I was watching this last night with my daughter asleep on my side and I'm shocked she didn't wake up. I was able to keep from laughing audibly but my body was shaking, I just couldn't stop it. Norm was special, I also loved his telling of bad jokes for about 5 solid minutes of the Bob Saget roast.
Any kid from the 90s had the privilege of watching the finest lineup in the history of SNL. I can remember staying up with my friends so we could just sit there and watch him on Weekend Update. Farley was my favorite performer, but Norm was my favorite cast member. Bob Dole on The Real World is another personal favorite. He seems to also be one of the truly revered comedians of all time. When you see him with people like Seinfeld and Letterman, he's got them already, with just a look. He could have the biggest names in comedy eating out of the palm of his hand. There was no guy like him. Download his podcast episodes and listen, seriously.
I'll close with one of my favorite jokes of his.
They say that gambling addiction is a disease. Well that may be true, but it's also the only disease where you can win a whole lot of money.
Was going to post this. One of my favorite bits on weekend update, ever.jokershady said:
By far my most favorite weekend update joke he ever told….I swear I laugh every time…..no one could deliver this joke as good as him
Here's another clip of how great Norm Macdonald was at taking the most awkward comedy and making it so funny you couldn't help but laugh.

Funny video, but what was up with Ken Griffey's obnoxious reactions? The jokes weren't even about him and he looked like he was offended by every one of em.DubFalls said:
Norm at the ESPYs is the most brutal roast of famous people, it's amazing. He was not invited back
You're a lucky, lucky man if you've never known anyone who reacted to jokes like that, even if they weren't about them. I think it's just a defense mechanism for some people to act serious and/or disinterested when someone else starts talking, especially if it might require rubbing two circuits together to get it.Quote:

I want to know what entity owns that Norm MAcdonald Live Youtube footage, and write to them to state that it would be a public service to make that content available to the world again.Jason_Ag98 said:
His Youtube podcast disappeared without warning a couple of years ago but there is an archive here:

Thanks for sharing - I've been wanting that (Conan talking about Norm) to happen but didn't think it would.Brian Earl Spilner said:
Conan just put out an episode of his podcast about Norm. Can't wait to listen to it.

I wonder if Conan will address how he cancelled Norm in 2018 because of Norm's comments on the View about Louis CK/Roseanne Barr/Chris Hardwick? I expected it from Fallon, but thought Conan had a little more respect for the concept of comedy. Never thought much of Conan after that whole deal and as such don't think he will acknowledge it.
Norm was scheduled for Sept 25 2018 on Conan and was just dropped. Never appeared again to my knowledge?Complete Idiot said:Red Dane said:

I think you are referring to Fallon and while Fallon did have a statement about norm on his show a couple days ago, he did not mention that and instead said norm was "a friend of the show, family really"
