As already pointed out, there are definitely a few misses. But there are a lot of great songs in the top 50. I love A Change is Gonna Come at #3.

Rolling Stone had some $50 lifetime subscription deal back in the 90s. Still comes in the mail every month. I'm pretty sure I read it a lot in the 2000s, but don't think I've cracked an issue in a decade.

Wow. I understand the list getting more diverse and less whitewashed over the last 14 years, but that looks like an affirmative action list with a heavy 2020 social justice agenda. They even penalized McCartney and Lennon for some reason. Race? Age? Sex? All of the above? Good thing Aretha Franklin got some respect with the #1 song, but putting Public Enemy ahead of EVERYONE else shows no respect.

This thing got a lot more street. Such is the era we live in.

I can accept Nuthin but a G Thang at 29 with a slight eyebrow raise. Would put Hey Ya in the top 100, not 10. But to have Lose Yourself at 167 shows that while they attempted to be genre inclusive, skin color (and sex) still plays a large factor.
