I watched the first two episodes passively. Seemed like a slow burn these two episodes. Really setting the table for the plot to develop later.
Idk if I will spring to watch this on epix. It has two major drawbacks from where I am sitting.
1) when I see Adrian Brody in a period piece like this, I am always drawn to his role in The Village. I cant get that tard out of my head.
2) I dont know where the story is going, but as a protagonist I believe its setting up the dynamic where he confronts the evil in his family and he saves the town, but they reject/blame him anyways. Unless somehow the evil gets penned on the preacher and the town sees this, I dont think this will have a satisfying ending. Given that its Stephen King, I shouldnt expect to be satisfied by the ending anyway. I just dont want a 10-hr investment for a "well huh" reaction.
