I'm starting to like this guy more than the vegas dudes or the like, because I'm a musician and I am really liking the more technical/musical analysis of these. He has perfect pitch, so picks out keys and progressions on the fly, but Opeth has thrown him for a loop several times. And the great thing, singer/songwriter of Opeth has zero knowledge of keys and progressions. In what other subject could you have what amounts to an amateur completely impress and confuse an expert?

His reactions to the chords at 3:55 minute mark and 6:45 are priceless. He straight up takes his hands off the piano at 6:50 lol.

The first video I found of his was Metallica's Orion. The technical aspect of his reviews was pretty cool partnered with his appreciation of the song itself.

The people who "catch"' the Fibonacci on a supposed first listen have researched the song beforehand, including this guy. The likelihood of somebody hearing that on a first listen and immediately realizing that it is a rising and declining Fibonacci pattern is so remote it's not even worth discussing. Still a good video though.

Maybe, and I often wonder about most of the stuff I watch on youtube. I gave this guy a little more credit b/c of his supposed "composer" title.

I've just seen numerous people react to that song and out of nowhere say something like "oh hey, that's an interesting pattern on the vocals. Sounds like, um, what is it called? Oh yeah, the Fibonacci sequence." It's so obvious they read about it beforehand but they just pretend they heard it on first listen so that people in the comments are like "OMG you're so smart."

Maybe this guy actually heard it and figured it out on a first listen, but I have my doubts.

You're probably right. I also watched his video for Undertow and he gives some pretty on point observations about the lyrics that might not be so genuine.

as I said above, the 'composer' guy at least has some cool theory analysis (and plays piano along with many), more along the lines of Rick Beato. More interesting to me than just some 'Hip hop fan' character being over zealous to some metal song, clearly trying to garner views.

He's another one who faked "catching" the Fibonacci on a first listen, even though he claims he's not even listening for things like that. Some of his videos are good, but I have very little interest in how these songs are mixed or made to sonically sound how they do. My interest is in the theory, which he doesn't talk about.
