They signed up Danica McKellar to a four film deal. She was a staple in the hallmark movies.

Aunt Becky is going to be joining them also on When Hope calls which is a spinoff of When Calls the Heart.

(The spinoff is moving from Hallmark to GAC)

Great, another channel I have to keep track of for the wife when switching.

Call me whatever, vy I actually watch some of the hallmark ones. The women are normal, attractive, it's not overly sexual or complicated, often times with actresses I like (like Danica), so it's a breezy couple of hours.
I do avoid the ones about weddings, wedding planners, and anything else that's extra girly though. I do have limits.

I am a fan of Lacey Chabert movies

Candace Cameron has some adorable ones as well.

That's Candace Cameron Bure to you.
But yes, they are the Hallmark movie GOATs.
Let's go, Brandon!

Cameron's voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me: I avoid all of hers. Which is like 20 percent of them it seems.

I always get kicked out of the room for mocking the generic plots or asking my wife towards the end if they are going to do it.

Yeah there's about three basic plot lines that they all follow to some degree:
Woman goes home or to small town from big city and finds love and happiness (usually giving up a promotion in the big city).
Women meets royal and overcomes commoner tag to snag the guy, or rich guy who she wins over with her down home ways.
Woman pitted against guy for work or some other reason and falls in love.

And yeah they all end the same. That's why I said breezy, you know how it's going to end as soon as the basic plot is laid out. But to me that's fine, I don't have to think.

They will have the slightest falling out/misunderstanding/argument toward the end that is quickly resolved, usually with the help of advice from sassy (black) friend.

Not always, but those often happen

An Autumn Romance (the first new movie on GAC Family) was pretty good. Took place in Montana (probably a suburb of vancouver but anyhow) and had some American history thrown in.

I know it's cliche and they're trite and predictable, but I love Hallmark movies. They're clean and pleasant to watch, and I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

I'm excited to see what happens with the new GAC Family network. I usually discuss TV and Movies over on a forum called Primetimer. That place is riddled with people who are extremely upset about this new network because it was created by the guy who pulled the gay-couple-kissing commercial from Hallmark after there was a protest about it. He lost his job at Hallmark, so he moved over to GAC and started this new network (that's the story as I understand it. Feel free to correct me if I have some of this wrong). (They hate Chip and Jo from Fixer Upper, too.)

I'm seeing a lot of familiar faces on the new GAC movie lineup, so I think it has a chance to make it as a network, but it won't be easy. Hallmark has a real hold on the Christmas movie and sappy movie market, though I occasionally watch one on UPTv if it sounds like a good one.

Well, the Hallmark Channel makes me want to gac, so a GAC network makes total sense. Though I have to admit, I do find watching these movies with my wife and making fun of them MST 3K style is fun! You really start to see the patterns in these things....

We love making fun of them! In fact, I made up some "Hallmark Movie Bingo" cards and every year at Christmas the whole family, including Mr. Geo and my son in law, watch one movie and try to get a bingo. The guys are really competitive about it. They'll be shouting at the movie, "take a sip of that cocoa!" or "go build a Gingerbread House!!" It's hilarious.

My favorite is the caroling. So much caroling. More caroling on the hallmark channel than the rest of America combined.
And the incredibly fake snow, everywhere. There is a company somewhere making a fortune on white mats.
