CBS show premiered tonight. Thoughts?

I've never seen the BBC "original", but I was interested and stayed tuned-in the whole time.

The preview looked kind of corny but I added it to my library. I'll watch it later because sometimes those cheesy s shows are fun. Fingers crossed!

We love the BBC original. Did not watch the first episode on CBS but can say the BBC show is excellent.

Just finished the BBC version and really enjoyed it. I hope they make another season, mainly because I want to hear about the witch trial from Mary.

Coming back to this. The CBS first episode and the trailer are awful.

Stick with the BBC version.

I won't post and bump this again since I get the vibe of the thread.

I guess I have a weird sense of humor. A lot of shows I really like get canceled early (like not even making it through first season); of course I also like some shows that made it a long time too. (As an additional aside, there are a number of very popular shows that I find it hard to muck through)

Anyways, watched episode three tonight about Thorfinn's funeral. I thought their banter was funny, and I'm still super interested in the ghosts' stories:

Viking struck by lightning, Pete shot by arrow in late 80s (but who?) , hippie by bear attack, Isaac via dysentery. I'll tune in for episode 4

I'm really digging this show. Tonight's episode had me in tears.

I've liked this show too.

The British version is pretty great. Its available to stream on HBO Max if anyone is looking for an enjoyable watch

Just found this show and really liking it. They are corny but some of the scenes are hilarious. Surprised more people aren't into it.

Never seen the original UK version so no expectations going in. I enjoyed IZombie because of Rose McIver so decided to give this a try and really enjoyed it . It's not (always sunny in Philly) funny but way better than the drivel most main networks put out. If two and a half men can get several seasons which to me is terrible but different strokes I guess, it would be a shame not to give this one at least one more.

Colonel Higgentoot obsessing about Alexander Hamilton was pretty funny. I like the plays on words they all have because of the periodical vernacular challenge . But mostly because it's wokeness is fairly minimal and not heavy handed .

One thing I never caught was how the early 2000s dude bro died ?

My wife and I have been watching this show recently. We never have seen the british version so we cant compare but we've been enjoying this so far. It's a good light hearted quick show and its good when we dont have much time to watch tv.

I enjoyed the episode with her mom at the diner. Her shouting "You were just saying that so you would get sucked off" and everyone looking at Jay was hilarious.

I might have to give the BBC version a shot.

The UK version and US version aren't the same show. It's cool to like them both, neither or one or the other.

I enjoy both. I think it's fascinating how the American version steers into the humor more whereas the UK version is going for pathos. I appreciate the US writers for finding the funny in it better.

I recommend the BBC version also. It's different writing outside of the first episode but also very funny.
