Well, DLR is going to hang it up. Five shows in early January 2022 and that is the wrap for Diamond Dave. Evidently, Alex Van Halen is going to play with his band for the final 5 shows Dave owes to Vegas.

Goodness knows Dave's voice and moves ain't what they were, and it's probably time. Probably the greatest front man of all time. Listening to the announcement interview, the death of Eddie, and Dave's doctors have either scared him to death, or it is coming sooner than later for him. Either way, this after Eddie's passing is the absolute end to anything that resembled what was my high school sound track. Actually a little before high school through 1984. I still listen to that era of VH when I hit the road for an hour or more just to keep me "alert" and thinking of being young with a thirst for life, good times, and, well, now living the next day and getting to remember those times again when taking a break from life today. It was good, real good, to live life as a teenager/late teens back then.

Announcement recording: (6 mins but worth the listen, Dave is not being spacy Dave at all)

And one to remember the Unchained times that, for me, was part of our soundtrack:

Love when something is said early on that lets me know a person's opinions are completely useless.

I might say showman which is something else. But not overall front man. To be the greatest front man, you actually need to be able to sing. At least just a little bit
