No, I consider it a creepy as **** movie. Especially when you consider that the original script had Leon and 12 yr old Mathilda having sex and Luc Besson stated that he wrote this movie with his 2nd wife in mind...the wife who he impregnated when she was 15 yrs old and he was 31. The deleted scenes were also significantly more sexual in nature. The only reason a lot of this is not in the final product was because Portman's parents asked for significant re-writes to the script, Jean Reno decided to make Leon more child-like as opposed to an overt pedophile in the original script, and the deleted scenes tested poorly with American audiences, for obvious reasons.
Outside of Luc Besson being a pedophile, he is also an accused serial rapist. His history really puts into light how ****ed up that movie was. They hyper sexualized a 12 yr girl. Had this movie been made today, I think most on TexAgs would be furious about it, much in the way y'all understandably reacted to 'Cuties' on Netflix.
