Thats just a very wrong thought
He finally got some decent competition. He's had some weak, weak challengers during his run.
His main strength was in buzzing in quickly and then running the board. Can't do that if the other contestants are competent.
May also have been burnt out after a long taping marathon. The way they tape 5 shows 2 days in a row now is kind of crazy. It gives some big advantages to returning champions in that they get accustomed to the buzzer, the cadence of the hosts, and all the stuff going on around the stage. But I bet it can wear them down eventually.

I don't think so. I think his play style was always going to throw people off and once he got on a roll and hit a big daily double it would be over before the awful interviews portion after the first break.
The new guy is good but he would have to be to beat King Amodio. To say that they have that long of a run with poor contests not only doesn't make statistical sense but also it makes you sound like a jelly *******. Nobody likes a jelly *******.

I am curious now to see if Matt Amodio will get looks for things like "The Chase". He still has the Tournament of Champions to go through though.
