Have any of you Hollywood insiders heard of a Netflix series being shot in Houston?

I have a film crew on my street today and tomorrow. All they said was it was featuring a local Houston comedian.

I did a little interwebbing and think the star is Mo Amer. Evidently he just shot a Netflix comedy special in Houston and I guess he grew up or went to school in Alief area.

I think LOS had something big going on in Houston this week as well.

Skankfest South is going on this weekend in Houston.

That show sounds very very houston and I love it.

Saw him in Denver a few years back and he was really funny.

He is a Houstonian and his first netflix special was hilarious. Lots of Houston references. He opens up for Dave Chappelle on tour a lot. They seem very close.

Just started watching. Definitely filled with a lot of houston love.

Pretty funny too

Just found it and really liking all the Houston scenes and references. Not slap-your-knee funny but entertaining.

Wife has been watching and enjoyed the first couple of episodes.

Is this the guy that does Ramy on Hulu. Cause its pretty great. His character going on a virtual hajj before hitting up the strip clubs in Atlantic City was just brilliant and absolutely transcended religions as a critique of the hypocrisy of legalism.

Good show.
