There was a somewhat similar thread last year, though I can't seem to find it. Maybe it was part of another thread. Either way, I made a Letterbox list for it of movies that are my favorite either outright Christmas movies, movies that feature Christmas in some small way, or even just remind me of movie-going at Christmas...

I've seen just six of these…some I haven't even heard of!

None of these really have much to do with Christmas but I always seem to enjoy watching them around the holidays for some reason:

Pixar movies
Harry Potter movies
Imaginationland South Park episodes

It's not, but this thread kind of turned into "movies you like to watch around the holidays".

yep. The Ref and Trading Places are unconventional holiday movies. a number of these are just movies that take place in the cold.

It doesn't have anything to do with Christmas but came out at Christmas time so i consider it cannon now.

A very good comic Christmas movie is "We're No Angels" (1952) starring Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, and Peter Ustinov. I just saw it again last night on Turner and it holds up quite well. Lots of humor as the three stars play Devil's Island cons who are trying to escape the island but wind up using their criminal skills to help out a hapless businessman and his family. Bogie and Ray play against type and Ustinov is hilarious.

Another wonderful one is "Three Godfathers" with John Wayne, Ward Bond, and the rest of the John Ford Stock Group. Humor, grittiness, sentimentality. Well done.
