Just got back from this. Besides my headache, which could've been attributed to the multiverse strobe scenes or maybe I'm just dehydrated, I thought it was great. Beautiful cinematography, creative, funny, and sweet.
After seeing Dr Strange a couple weeks ago, I wish I would have just seen this twice instead.

This is out for rental now and was an amazing movie. One that I wanted to see, and should have seen in the theaters, but never made the time for. Had some of the most creative fight scenes of the last few years.

Finally saw this today. Best flick I've seen in a while. The absurdity was entertaining. The story was one I needed right now.

This was hands-down the worst movie I've ever seen
Loved it. Maybe better at home because if you pause you'll know how much you have left. I didn't think it dragged at all (possibly because of that - I was never fooled and knew it was a long one.

I remember seeing the previews last year but forgot about this movie until scrolling thru Showtime tonight. Loved it. So unique and random, and yes I too was thinking this might be even better while high.
I loved the multiple cameos by Waymond Lee from Workaholics
As for the movie in general, I kept getting Meow Wolf Denver vibes due to the multiverse quantum travel settings. Of you haven't been, come to Denver and it will blow your mind.
It did drag on just a bit, but lots of deep meaning and great heart from many different cultural and moral PoVs all at once all the time. Loved the ending, and all the lol moments throughout the movie. Didn't realize it was JLC until reading this thread.

Watched this on a flight last year and thought "WTF did I just watch?". After some thought immediately after, I decided it was f'ing AWESOME! Very unexpected how insane, yet great this show was.

The only thing stopping me from giving up on it early on was the screaming 1 year old behind me on the plane. About an hour in I was to the point where I had to see how this Acid trip ended. Not my type of movie, but somehow I enjoyed it. I get it though for those that are meh about it.
I normally wouldn't watch a movie like this, but something made me give it a try. It was a wild ride, and I enjoyed it.
Ke Huy Quan was great. I'm happy for him. He seems like a really good guy.

This movie was god awful, the fact that it was nominated for more awards than any other movie shows how stupid the Oscars have become. I kept thinking surely this story gets better? Nope. It doesn't.

It was quite a ride. I loved it. Then I got tired of it. Then I loved it again. This movie was all over the place, but damn if they didn't pull it all together in the end. I can understand how some people turned it off and thought it was horrible. I stuck it out and I am glad that I did. The mother and daughter scene in the parking lot had me holding my breath to see what would happen with their relationship.
FYI - I think my favorite universe was where they were rocks talking to each other.

Is the whole damn movie in subtitles? I'm 30 minutes in and it is hard enough to keep up without having to read every f-ing word that is spoken!
Wife and I watched it last night and both loved it. Had no idea what we were getting into other than I've enjoyed most a24 films. Laughed a lot, it was fun, weird, heartfelt, superb acting. Will watch again.

I really tried to like this, and I was very happy for Ke Huy Quon. But it just didn't work for me. So chaotic, the humor just didn't land for me, and the mother-daughter deal just seemed cliche.

I got an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind vibe from this movie.

Saw this over EMPTY Week (12/26-12/31) with the girlfriend. Echoing the same sentiments - pretty dang awesome and probably 20-30 minutes too long. Rock universe meta was pretty damn funny and needed "Shh- you don't have to worry about that here". I needed that in the movie (and in RL)
