After dragging my screaming toddler out of Christmas Eve service, this helped in calming him down. So we've watched it a number of times. I never appreciated how much it appeals to small children with simple animation and without the barrage of stimulus in modern children's shows. We all laugh at the dancing scene, but my toddler understands what they are doing. Maybe I'm not the target audience.

From the adult side, it really does a good job of addressing being overwhelmed by commercialization. It somehow builds around jazz and religious themes. It is unique in the catalog of mainstream Christmas media, yet it works.

Not a Christian and not a parent - and this is still my favorite Christmas movie/show ever. It's perfect.

Same with the 80's Garfield Christmas special. I showed it to my 8 and 5 year olds yesterday and they loved it.

It is the perfect Christmas show! A true masterpiece from the story to the music.
