I love Bond movies and I thought Daniel Craig was an excellent 007. This last movie made me sad.

I got the entire 007 Blu-ray collection for Christmas (doesn't include the last Craig movie, obviously). Looking forward to watching that since I've actually not seen some of the Connery movies and haven't seen any of them post-Connery aside from Casino Royale probably since they came out.

Yes the ending sucked

The ending was tough, yes, but it is precisely why I loved NTTD. This was a 007 movie with all the typical stuff like a megalomaniac villain, gorgeous gals, and great action scenes, and then that ending comes out of nowhere and hits you in the feels. Totally unexpected for a 007 movie.

They should really do a spin-off movie centered on this character.

Word.

We knew someone was going to die, especially with the "we have all the time in the world" comment at the opening. It became more obvious through the picture it would be Bond. It's not just that the movie was disappointing, but that it was disappointing after such a strong opening scene.

Not bad, if you look at the Craig saga as one piece for them to then reboot. When they do another one, I hope we don't see something stupid like a female James Bond. The character isn't 007, it is James Bond. Make a different series if you want a female secret agent.

And yes, Ana de Armas was great in that role and looked even more amazing than usual. I can't get tired of seeing her on screen. In every way, my type. I just love the whole "first few weeks on the job" thing while also being very competent.

I would definitely watch a CIA version of her doing some stuff in Latin America.

I'm pretty sure I'm done with these movies if they don't do something to change them up. To me that means a woman or a non-white man. These movies are beyond stale at this point.

Yeah, that would be a big no from me.

There's plenty they could do freshen things up without throwing out the foundational basis of the character.

How about making 007 an actual SECRET agent...as opposed to what we seem to always get nowadays which is having his identity known to everyone both friend and foe.

Right … because all the times they've tried this with other series it was so successful … looking at you Ghostbusters and Oceans.

the whole thing sucked except for her, and they rushed those scenes badly and then dropped the whole idea.

it had 'pretty' sets, but other than that it was ****ING GARBAGE.

I enjoyed the cinematography of NTTD, and there were some incredible action sequences. I mean, the scene at the beginning with the Aston Martin spoke to my heart as a Bond fan. I loved that. And Craig was still Craig - I've enjoyed the "rugged, less polished" approach to Bond from his films.

The villain, the "nanobot" thing, killing Felix, and killing Bond were all major negatives. Also, they marketed the hell out of Ana de Armas for this film, yet she ended up with very little screen time (and she absolutely killed it), that seemed misleading as well.

Still, I've enjoyed the Craig series and I'd still put NTTD at #3 behind Skyfall/Casino.

I hope the next Bond is cut from a similar mold as the Craig Bond. Less Moore/Brosnan and more Craig with a dash of Connery.
