Armie Hammer - obvious connection to Armand Hammer and Occidental Petroleum.

Similar for Julia Louis Dreyfus and the Louis Dreyfus shipping conglomerate.

On the Season 9 bonus materials DVD for Seinfeld, there is a portion where they ask some if the cast members whether they were ready to end the show.

Jerry was ready. He had been starring in season and writing in the off-season to get ready for the next season. Many other cast members seem to think the show could have kept going.

Julia Louis Dreyfus made some comment about "it would have really benefited us financially to keep going…"

Good grief. Besides the large per-episode salary the four main cast members were getting the last few seasons, her family is freaking loaded. She wasn't born with a silver spoon. She was born with a diamond-encrusted silver spoon.

I once read something where Jerry later said they should have kept going because after the show they basically weren't really doing anything.

Wasn't the case eventually, of course.

He was busy collecting cars and counting all of his money from syndication. I wonder if he's a billionaire yet.

My MIL's grandfather (don't recall if biological or step) was some actor from back in the day out of California named Curly. The last name is escaping right now at 4am.

Let me find out. I just know it's Curly and he was an actor in California but don't remember the last name. I know it isn't the same last name as my MIL's maiden name/her mom's last name.

One more I remembered, Kelly Jakle, who played Jessica in Pitch Perfect, is Branch Rickey's great Grandaughter. She has sung the NA at dodgers games.
Side note, she was also Brittany Snow's roommate for a few years. So that would have been a cool house to hang out in.

The Jared Padalecki post reminded me that my mom is a distant cousin to Lee Horsley, who had a tv series about a detective named Matt Houston back in the 80's.

The airplane scene in the opening clip of Matt Houston was filmed at Allenfarm, just a few miles south of College Station.

This is common knowledge to guys our age I would think but yeah that's a perfect example.

Here's a weird one….Jimmy Carter, Elvis Presley, and the dudes from LMFAO are all related.

Anyone remember these guys?! Joe Stampley is my mom's uncle, so no clue what that makes us.

I knew a guy whose girlfriend cheated on him with MacGyver. He would get mad every time he heard the theme song to the show.

Saw them at the HLSR in the Astrodome as a kid. Pretty sure that's the most people I ever heard holler "BULLSH**" over and over (during the Cotton Eyed Joe". At least until Fran became head coach.

Thought this might be interesting.
I went down one of the million rabbit holes I seemingly go down daily, and discovered that Olivia Newton John's grandfather won the Nobel prize for physics, he was one of the early people in quantum mechanics. And then her dad worked for MI5 in WW2, and is supposedly the guy that arrested Rudolph Hess when he made it to Great Britain. And her sister was married to Jeff Conway as well. Plus she had a boyfriend go missing and was never found. Many think he faked his death.

So that is a lot for one person, it I'm sure there's lots of other good stories out there.

One of my physics profs made sure to note her relation a famous physicist.

Actress Naomi Watts' father Peter was the road manager and a sound engineer for Pink Floyd in the early '70s. It is his laughter that is heard on the song "Brain Damage" from album Dark Side of the Moon.

Texas had several hitmen connected to both CIA and the Louisiana / Miami mafias led by Carlos Marcello….according to Philip F. Nelson (get all the books).

This included Woody's dad, as well as the former Student Body President of UT, Malcom Wallace (the only man in TX to be convicted of first degree murder, and then walk away scot free).

IMO - he murdered a very important Brazos County man, Henry Marshall.

The connector here? LBJ.

Pulling this back for one I found tonight,

Christopher Lloyd's grandfather was one of the founders of Texaco. If I had to guess which celeb had Texaco connections, he might not have been in the top 500.

My uncle lived on the outskirts of a small town out in west Texas. He told me one time back in the 80s that he met and talked to the professor guy on Back to the Future as he rode through on a bike. He said he was a nice guy and was alone. I found it hard to believe but I have since read he rode all over Italy. Apparently he is an avid cyclist.

I would imagine there is a very high correlation in actors/actresses coming from a prosperous family. The bootstrappers tend to rise up through the comedy ranks.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Mara Rooney
Kate Mara

Families are above top 1% rich

Maya Rudolph and Gwyneth Paltrow attended the same private school in NYC together. Probably didn't go the bootstraps route

Plenty of others - Jolie, Clooney, etc.

my point is to get into the arts like acting it helps to have financial backing behind you. Which is why your see a lot of actors with wealthy families.
