How incredibly sad
Hard to be sad about someone living that life and until 99 years of age.
We should all be so lucky.
I'm thankful for the years of entertainment she provided.

This one hurts, even if she did have an amazing full life.
An incredible woman, sharper than most people well into her nineties, incredible funny, raised countless dollars for animal causes, and was a living time machine all the way back to the Great Depression.
RIP.

I was watching the episode she is in of Community just now when it was announced.

She's been in broadcasting(radio at the age of 8). Since 1930. First TV appearance in 1939.
One article put "female" as a qualifier for longest female in TV. I'm struggling to think of a male that was on Radio/Film/TV for 89 years. TV for 80 years. (I don't think she did anything after Covid started).
Off the top of my head I thought of George Burns who died at 100, but he got his start on stage just a few years before whites radio debut and he's been gone since 1996. Shirley Temple started in 1934 and only died 7 years ago, but she was out of entertainment for along time before death.

Just watched that episode tonight in her honor. What a funny lady and a great sport. She was down for pretty much anything.

You might not recognize the name, but you will recognize the face. He was one of main guys in Hitchcock and Chaplin films. He was the older doctor on St. Elsewhere. He continued working pretty much until the day he died.

The other 3 golden girls are only 5-7 years older than Carrie and company.
