I don't even know what to do with this. Everything is off the rails, but there's no way I'm not watching this.
What a time to be alive.
And they're all bidding against each other so now somebody can walk in and pitch "Fresh Prince, but it's like The OC" and get a 2 season commitment. And we get to watch them light their money on fire.Quote:
with so many streaming services.....it's getting really watered down

Or be as funny as any average episode of Fresh Prince.
It's definitely way worse.Quote:
Just feel like that trend has gotten worse with movies and shows the last 10 or so years, but maybe its always been bad
Cancel culture wouldn't allow that scene today.powerbelly said:The new show will never reach this levelAgShaun00 said:

When you approach it from a mindset of the other Fresh Prince doesn't exist, I actually think the trailer is pretty intriguing.
I'll probably check it out.
As long as they change all of them from comedies to dramas and shorten the title of the original show to be more edgy. For example:Gigem314 said:
First 'Saved by the Bell', now 'Fresh Prince'.
Is Peacock going to reboot or recreate the rest of the 90's sitcoms?
Bring back Urkel? (Ok, I'd actually watch that one)

I'd totally watch a Mr. Belvedere prequel where young Mr. Belvedere is a MI-6 agent killing international terrorists abroad, and then his cover gets made and he ends up hiding at George and Webster's house for the rest of his days to avoid capture.Claude! said:Don't forgethelloimustbegoing said:As long as they change all of them from comedies to dramas and shorten the title of the original show to be more edgy. I worry I'll regret asking, but what about this iconic scene would run afoul of the cancel culture mob today?NoahAg said:Cancel culture wouldn't allow that scene today.powerbelly said:

showing a deadbeat black dad. not sure if cancel/woke culture would have a huge issue with it (they might), but producers/writers would be damn sure too chicken **** to write/show it simply out of fear of casting a negative light on BIPOCYoda said:I worry I'll regret asking, but what about this iconic scene would run afoul of the cancel culture mob today?NoahAg said:Cancel culture wouldn't allow that scene today.powerbelly said:

Except I bet they'll reenact that iconic scene in Bel-Air at some point.
Anyway, trailer looks good, will watch a few. Cobra Kai was a sort of new take on KK, Riverdale was a decent take on the Archie series, so why the hell not Fresh Prince?
