Perhaps I was naive when I listened to it when it came out but I thought that season was a true crime story.

The Bergdahl one was just weird.

All three seasons since then have been about racial subjects and it appears they want it to be a racial podcast going forward.

Was that a turn in the series or was it always like that?

The first one was genuinely interesting since the perp has maintained his claim of innocence and the witness was pressured by police to get a confession. Knew season 2 and onward were going to be political so I didn't bother.

I never got the sense that season 1 had any racial element to it.
Season 2 was actually pretty interesting to me. I haven't listened to any after that.

I think the fact that Bowe sounds a bit too much like Beau, as in an endearing name for a boyfriend, creeped me out a bit.
