Exactly, they changed the focus of the site to critique American culture (largely the left) instead of focusing inward on the church. They may still "do some of that," but it's not their identity any longer.

Any thoughts on the Bee getting kicked off of Twitter this weekend?

The Bee's latest post hit too close to home for some of those on the left. Seth Dillon will speak about this a little bit more on March 24th which will be very cool.

Yes, quite Christian that post. And such funny satire to punch down and make a joke that was worn out before Y2K.

Understandable. But the Bee has allowed for satire to be legal once more.. or at least funny again.

The Onion is still the gold standard. Babylon Bee doesn't even do satire now, it's just bad insult comedy.

The Onion hasn't been relevant since the Aughts. I feel like your post is satire.

Thanks for confirming that you (and the folks at the Bee) just don't get it. The damage you've done to the cause and ministry of Jesus is immense.

So hilarious how progs hate hate hate any message not approved by the ministry of truth.

Personally I'm not a fan of the bee. It seems like the stuff they lampoon is super low-hanging fruit and just not clever. However I think it is great an outlet exists for pointing out how ridiculous the lefties have gotten.

The bee is the modern day equivalent of crude Roman street art of Julius Caesar's day: not super high-brow, but relevant for opposing propaganda.

All that said, anything that triggers NPCs is a good thing.

This is a spot-on description of the Bee. Sadly they probably think they're also being good Christians as well.

Mocking a trans person shouldnt be a left or right issue. Its a human respect issue. Twitter is a private company and they ultimately decide what is and isnt hosted on their servers. I figure those on the right would respect private business decisions.

The Onion is still relevant and still miles better than the Bee. Though I will admit our reality has gotten the point where's its almost past parody or satire.

Rachel Levine is not female. Full stop.

Fact is not hate speech. The truth is not hate speech.

Twitter could delete the tweet themselves. But they won't. It's not enough for them to just wipe it out. They want the Bee to bend the knee and admit that they engaged in hateful conduct.

I wasn't picking and choosing what I posted, I pulled up the archive from March 2016 and posted the stories from there. They were all fairly clever satirical takes on the quirks of the American Christian church.

So, sure, they may still "do posts like that," but their whole focus has changed. They are no longer clever or satirical. They're swinging a stick at low hanging fruit. It's lame.

I pulled up today's front page: https://babylonbee.com/news

1 of 20 articles are about the American church and that's more of a clickbait article you'd see on Facebook:
Top Signs You Went To Youth Group In The '90s

It's blatantly political and the fact that they (and many others) are trying to tie that identity with religion is disheartening.

You would think the fact that TURNING POINT of all organizations is hosting this event shows you that Babylon Bee is a primarily a political site. I didnt know it had started off as a christian satire site until this thread. Clearly they found where more money can be made. Thats not knocking them for switching gears. I doubt any of the people I see reposting stuff from Babylon Bee are aware of its origins.

No. 2+2 does not equal 5.

That USA Today chose a male to be one of the women of the year does not make that person a female.

That this absolute FACT is being pointed out doesn't make it "Hate Speech," regardless of your feelings.

But that's just it - saying 2+2!=5 isn't hateful. It's fact. Saying someone with an XY chromosome is biologically male isn't hate speech. It's indisputable fact.

Except that's what you've decided is the sole determining factor. Humans and biology are more complex than chromosomes (and not everyone is XX or XY). So you've decided you can be cruel and hateful towards others because… why, exactly? Because being right, in your mind, relieves you of any obligation to be decent, humble, and kind to your fellow human?

Biological sex IS in fact the sole determining factor as to whether or not Rachel Levine is a man or a woman. "She" can LARP however she wishes, I really don't care (and GTFO with the Alien 3 crap). Because I refuse to say that black is white to avoid getting trampled at the next woke zebra crossing doesn't mean I'm being cruel or hateful. That's you dropping yet another feels-based non sequitur. You can whine all you want, but there are still only 4 lights.

What is a woman? What is a "trans" person you speak of, especially in regards to Will Thomas? This thread really should be moved to F16. The fact that a few of you can't grasp what is happening before your eyes is despicable and deserves further discussion not on the Entertainment forum. Hell, "Lia Thomas" entire wiki page doesn't even mention his name or history.

But to bring it back full circle to entertainment, Ricky Gervais' standup on the dead naming of Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner is top notch.

Nobody should be dicks to each other. That being said, Twitter is almost exclusively a place to be dicks to each other. Banning the bee for making a Dickish joke when the President of Russia and pretty much every other dictator/terrorist out there still have an account is a laughable policy. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

So according to twitter, invading a peaceful nation is fine, but tweeting:

Quote:

The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!

Is "inciting violence" and is banworthy.
