Really gave me Edge of Seventeen vibes. Which I love that Marvel is willing to make a teen romance/comedy that stars a superhero.

Will this be the first time two of their big series (Obi-Wan) will be airing simultaneously? So far I believe they've only aired one Marvel or Star Wars show at a time.

Can anyone explain why the name Ms Marvel? I know it dates back a long time in comic books..but why the hell was the character named after the entire company back then? It's really really dumb sounding. Almost as dumb as Captain Marvel.

These two articles give the gist of it. Basically, Captain Marvel was created and trademarked quickly in the 60s to steal it from DC when the trademark on their own Captain Marvel (now known as Shazam) lapsed. Ms Marvel was conceived as a female companion to Captain Marvel. Eventually Carol Danvers (the original Ms Marvel) took over the Captain Marvel moniker, and Ms Marvel went to others, eventually landing on Kamala Khan.

Maybe - but I think that can be easily retconned. She could have swung by earth once or twice during the snap period, or post-Endgame, or Kamala is just such a huge Avengers fan that she fanfics all the CM stuff out there.
That last one may sound most likely, in a way. For some kids, all it takes is a glimpse of an action figure or something and their imagination will fill in the rest. Even if all she saw was Carol wreck that ship, or take on Thanos (which apparently the feds in WandaVision had seen), that might be enough for an impressionable teen to idol worship off of.

Nope just the coming of age from a females perspective.
Well if you are a young girl and want a favorite avenger, your parents might opt for the flying space one with infinity stone powers over the flying witch one with infinity stone powers. Especially after that whole "mind kidnapping a town" thing.
Also I can guarantee that this show will be my daughters favorite thing.

It's just an interesting posting pattern that I don't understand. If something doesn't look interesting to me, I just breeze past it and don't spend time posting about how much I'm not interested in it.
So I subscribe to Critical Drinker and this came up this morning and I felt it interesting enough to add to the conversation. You don't have to watch if you're not interested. Just breeze on by.

None of the Avengers knew of CM until 2018, when she showed up (to them) for the first time.
After the Garden, she left to deal with issues off world, then only reappeared in 2023 for the Big Battle. (nothing else in the interim would have been big enough to bring he back).
Seeing we are in 2024/2025... how and when would Kamala have been able to develop all of this hero worship for someone who likely only made a few post Endgame visits to Earth (to date). I guess this is something that will be addressed in The Marvels.

I mean, he did, earlier. We got it the first time. What was called out was returning to the thread to beat it into the ground with a video made by a guy who seemed ready to hate the series before any footage was released and who made broad assumptions based off a first trailer. Ah, thanks. Well so much for that theory.
Not that I support Debbie downers but the LOTR thread is literally pages of people ****ting on a brief trailer after it came out. This trailer doesn't look particularly amazing but I always cut marvel some slack.
