That's the greatness of these early war propaganda films! Little plot, lots of thrown together writing and little development, some bad acting (though there are a lot of great actors in this) for really just one goal. Kinda like porn if you think about it.Duncan Idaho said:
Such a convoluted, unbelievable plot.
If he had just realized that he was wrong when he heard his American friends, it would have been a decent movie. But it all being part of his master plan was just effing tarded.

Am I correct to say that this was actually never released in theaters? We had a prof tell us that while I was in school. Never cared to look it up.
The cast had Robert Mitchum, William Frawley (Fred from I love Lucy), Samuel Hinds (George Bailey's dad) and Cliff Robertson in an uncredited roll (as Adams).Duncan Idaho said:
That is what was so frustrating about it. It could have been a pretty decent movie even by today's standards but they went with the "oh I know what I will do to save the country and help us win the war we havent entered yet. I'll pass a fake formula to the Japanese students and then go along with the accusations by moving to Japan and being the tucker Carlson of ww2 and dutifully do my job spreading propaganda and disinformation until the day comes that my old college friends make it out of flight school and come here on a mission. Only after all these things happen, I will spring my trap and reveal that I was loyal to the United States all along" instead of the "these guys hurt me when they didn't believe me but I still love them"
This is about to change.helloimustbegoing said:
The football team version of this movie could be "We Have Frequently Been Licked"
