Just watched tonight after subscribing to Daily Wire yesterday. Totally understand that Daily Wire as a company is politically charged. That being said, absolutely no political messages either way for this movie. You'd have no clue that Ben Shapiro was involved with this. No virtue signaling. No liberal tears. Just a movie.
Now THAT being said it was decent, not amazing by any stretch. 6.5/10 and miles better than any D'Souza or Kirk Cameron movie. Better than any Cable TV movie and most Netflix movies.
Some of the plot in the middle was slow and dragged but it was just a good old fashioned suspense western movie. I think they could have leaned a bit more into horror at that section. Didn't pull any punches and was a firm R. I'll credit the director with a really great Tarantinoesque scene of tension right as the real plot sets in. None of the cast (including Carano) brought it down. Interestingly, Daniel Day Lewis' son was in it.
Scenery was beautiful and reminded me of Wind River or True Grit.
I'm not wholesale endorsing it, but if you like westerns, suspense, or want to support somebody doing something different, I'd give it a shot.
