My daughter has been cast in a production that requires a British accent (Estuary). Her dialect coach has recommended that in addition to her daily practice and lessons, we have her watch British tv shows and movies.

I'm a BBC and period drama nerd, but unfortunately she has no interest in what I usually watch. We're watching films of course (Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, etc) but if I could find a good series that would hold her interest, I think that would be more beneficial. A lot of what I've found searching BBC kids shows is for very young kids.

Anyway, long story short, are there any British shows your tweens love?

The inbetweeners is probably too dirty but it's pretty funny…maybe pick some of the clean episodes.

Dr. Who, Merlin, Being Human, Sherlock, Mr. Bean. I haven't seen it, but there's a teen drama called Skins.

Yeah Skins is great but would be TVMA in the US
