It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I lurk this board and Old Rivalries daily. My podcast called Ain't Slayed Nobody got nominated for an ENnie Award this year, which is really the only award people know about in tabletop gaming. The current popularity of tabletop rpgs both amazes and irritates me.

In its heyday I had to live between two worlds, amongst the jocks and popular crowd who made fun of the dorks who played Dee and Dee - [sarcastically] "Are you the dungeon master?" - and the dorks themselves who enjoyed highly entertaining games that would be the foundation of video games most everyone enjoys today.

Call of Cthulhu, Star Frontiers, MechWarrior. I played all of those. My children, to this day, have the early intricately designed pewter figurines created by Ral Partha and Grenadier Models that we bought in the late 70's early 80's. I, of course, moved on to "cooler" hobbies as I matured and tabletop gaming waned.

And here you guys are, openly enjoying games that I had to hide, and almost feel ashamed, playing for fear of ridicule.
