Anyone read it?

Will probably finish it today, it's pretty short. Always enjoy some more Dresden though. Last two books weren't my favorite of the series particularly how they did a main character wrong but I kind of understand why he did it because it massively changes and challenges Dresden as a character. Also a little gut wrenching to have Butters and Sonya stand up to him and be his moral compass.

I'm just about to start Peace Talks again, and then finally read Battlegrounds. I didn't realize there was another one coming out after that. Add it to the list!

Just listened to Skin Game again and that was my favorite of the series so far. Such a fun ride.

Changes through skin game are just amazing and I think he had to come down at some point from doing so well with those.

I enjoyed them, but I can't remember ever feeling physically exhausted after reading a book like i did the second of the two.

Really? I mean I get it; it's basically a 16 hour climax, but I thought it was great.

Maybe because it was such an extended climax it never really had a great moment just abunch of good moments. It never hit the high notes of changes/cold days/skin game for me.

Dude, Dresden "calling his banner" and summoning the dark creatures of winter and the hostile citizens of chicago is one of the most epic things in the series. He basically raised an army out of the ashes of a broken and burning city and went to war. Also Marcone unsnapping his own neck is a massive OH SH*T MOMENT.

Survey, would Dresden files be a better live action or animated series? Could be neat if it was shot like the Sin City movies.

It would be a fantastic live series, imho. Needs something like HBO to back it

Needs HBO/Netflix/Amazon funding but only hbo probably has the production value to make it good.

I wouldn't mind animated if it's the only way to manage the budget. Book 3 and 4 will be tough without some money. Particularly 4 with the Fae battle.

My only concern is there are so many books that they'd have to do some major condensing to make it fit a normal 7 year run of a show. I doubt they are going to get anybody to sign on for 25 seasons haha.

I think they could easily do multiple books per season. To really catch people on they should somehow fit book 3 into season one. Easily the best of the first 4.


Finished the new novella. It was okay, nothing that great but not ever going to complain about more Dresden.
