Benatar, 69, recently told USA Today that she will not be singing "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" at her concerts moving forward because she believes the song is disrespectful to those who have been impacted by mass shootings. While she acknowledged that she's gotten backlash from some fans for not performing the song, she's standing by what she describes as her "small protest."
"We're not doing 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and fans are having a heart attack and I'm like, I'm sorry, in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings, I'm not singing it," she said. "I tell them, if you want to hear the song, go home and listen to it."
