From the creator, Andrew Roblyer '11 :
"The project is a Houston production of the one-man show I wrote and performed in 2015 in College Station, called 'Uncle Eb,' which is a modern sequel to A Christmas Carol through the eyes of Tiny Tim as an adult. His Uncle Eb (aka the famous philanthropist Ebeneezer Scrooge) has recently passed away, and Tim, recently out of college, has washed out of his shiny new job and moved back home with his parents. It is here, as the Christmas season nears, that he finds himself sorting through old boxes of his Uncle Eb's things, going to therapy, and generally trying to figure out what he's supposed to do with his life. Ghosts, secrets, and plenty of weirdness fills out a story that audiences described as powerful, engaging, and hope-giving.
When I initially performed it in 2015, it got rave reviews from the audiences that saw it, and now I'm looking to produce it in a major market like Houston, casting a new actor in the role. I picked this show because I truly think that it has something to say to our current world as we figure out how to hold on to hope and relationship in the midst of what feels like a constant crisis."
