I'm interviewing Tracy Lynn Cruz ( the Yellow Power Ranger at some point) on Monday for a project I'm getting to contribute to about fanboys. If you enjoyed the Power Rangers (I was too old for it) and have a question that is at least semi-appropriate, fire away.

Yeah, got nothing appropriate. Can you define semi-appropriate?

Asking her the question won't get me fired from the gig is semi-appropiate. Like when I asked Schwarzenegger a couple of years ago who would win a fight between him and Stallone in their primes.

Did you do the book with interviewing big time actors and what it's like to be leading men in Hollywood??? When's that book coming out?

It is on Indefinite hold because the publishing house fired the person who hired me at the end of 2020. I've written about 33% of it and every 6 months I email them and get a form letter response.

This isn't necessarily a question per se, but tell her I'd really like to have sex with her and give her my phone number. I'll PM it to you.

Ask for her opinion on the racism/sexism of the original series.

Ask her about the pink ranger.

Curious if they started doing their own fights later. As I understand it, for the first American run the Japanese would send them the copies of their fights, and the writers would then have to write the episode based around what they sent. Wonder if that changed as time went on and different editions came out.

"A lot of movies and TV shows are being rebooted, prequeled, or spun off. How do you plan to make your character truly memorable and a jumping off point for the next generation of MMPR fans?"

"There have been 19 yellow rangers. How many can you identify?"

Or, if you like:

"There have been 19 yellow rangers. How important is your legacy as the absolute, unquestionably hottest one?"

Had to look her up. I say her casting as the Yellow Ranger is cultural appropriation.... does she agree?

"You know growing up as Filipino-American, you weren't seeing a whole of people that looked like you on any shows geared for young people. I remember growing up in LA going to school with hundreds of Asian classmates but when I watched a show like Saved by the Bell, you saw four white kids and their light-skinned Hispanic and Black friends and thought, 'Wait a minute, where's everyone who looks like us?'

I know that the original show had some real trouble with some behavior towards cast members for their sexuality that was inappropriate in any era, and that's hard to imagine someone going through that when there wasn't a real acceptance of who they were. As for the notion of the black ranger being Black and the yellow ranger being Asian, I can see what people might think that. But I originally auditioned and was cast as the pink ranger, It was a last minute change. I know that the main audience was kids, and kids who saw someone who looked like them didn't care what color suit I was wearing, they were thrilled about who was under the helmet."

"Ha-ha, oh that follows us around no matter where we go! The earlier shows were very unorthodox in how they were made but once we gained a following the show runners started making more creative decisions and not worrying about using the footage from Japan because a lot of it was very repetitive. Most people just thought of us as the kids in the suits but we were all athletes or dancers or some sort of competitive person and that really motivated us on doing stunts and wanting to be in there as much as you could. When you're young and craving work the last thing you want to do is go sit in a comfortable chair while some one else pretends to be you because what if the director is watching and starts thinking, why do I need her when the stunt woman is just as good?"

For your consideration, keeping in mind she is 46 years old in 2022.
