Apparently he had a cameo in the trailer.

He's in that picture twice.

I'm a big Weird Al fan, but I've passed on seeing him in concert. The music is too novelty to listen to as a serious concert, and the humor feels a little cringy to see live. But I really enjoy the recorded versions.

Am I missing out?
I've been to two Weird Al concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them. If you like the recorded versions, you'll have a good time at his concerts.
Does he mix it up with his original music and his straight parodies? Some of my favorites are when he doesn't take a specific song but does his "genre parodies" because I think those take a different kind of creativity and show off his band a little more.

I've been to three.
I chose to sit out his current tour.
His normal concert was really good: props, costume changes, etc.
Then the concert of only his original stuff, no straight parodies, was ok.
Then the one with the string orchestra was really pretty forgettable.
The current tour is the originals without parodies again.

"Dare to Be Stupid" is the ultimate genre parody. Mark Mothersbaugh said so in not so many words.

I saw him on the DTBS tour at Astroworld when I was in high school. It was phenomenal. He went out into the crowd when he sang "One More Minute."

Didn't really keep up with him, but then one day I watched "Party in the CIA" and "aluminum foil" and realized I have been missing out on Al in my life.

Word Crimes is absolutely genius.

Most all of his parodies have better lyrics than the originals.
He's actually intelligent.

Pop and rock singers...well........

Watching it right now. About halfway through, enjoying it so far. Some spot on parodies of biopic tropes.

Lordy, that was amazing. I'm recommending it to everyone.

When his band finished playing and he was like y'all could play this entire time? My sister and I lost it

Between this and UHF, I think it's clear. The world needs more Weird Al movies.

When his mom gained that weight, and then said "You know I'm fat. I'm fat, you know it" and he didn't recognize it for his next big song - so great.

It was really good. I love the twist on Beat it and Eat it. and Amish Paradise.

That movie was like a journey through Weird Al's mind. Weird. Funny. Strange turns. But always entertaining.

Awesome cameos and references. For some reason, the waiter/Groban one caught me. Nothing special, but it's amazing how many stars were in this, and with piddly roles.

We just finished it and loved it for all the ridiculousness. I lost it at the, "it's the cops" at the polka party.

My favorite part was when John Deacon invites Al to play with Queen at Live Aid, and my wife turned to me and asked "did he really?"

I'll admit I googled to find out if he had some sort of friendship or fixation on Madonna. Nope. He got me.

I couldn't help it man. I knew they never dated, but I was curious if there was anything else to justify such a big role. Nope

I find it strange Weird Al has never hosted SNL. He seems like he'd be perfect for it.

Tonight would've been a perfect time to do it.

Either would've been far better than Amy Schumer. Watching it now, and these suck.

That was very entertaining. It was so absurd and hilarious. The twist about Eat It and others awesome! And the party scene at Dr. Dementos was outstanding and probably a blast to film for the actors. I recognized many of the actors, but I need to go back and see who the ones I couldn't place were.

Love that he matches up everything to the original, but still leaves his glasses on.

That was probably the best musician biopic I've seen.

You generally know most of the backstory in these things but I had no idea most of the stuff in this movie happened.
