This show apparently was released yesterday. Stars Steve Carell and was produced by the producers of The Americans. So far it's pretty good:

Will probably watch anyway.

Watched the first 2 eps last night. I'm sold. My only complaint is that i wish it was 1 hour episodes, they don't cover a lot of ground in 22 minutes..

Yeah, it's weird that they are so short.

The serial killer is Irish, so English adjacent.

Domhnall Gleeson is one of my favorite actors so am excited for this. First two episodes have been good so far but also wish they were longer like was already said.

A very underrated Tool song. It sits right in between The Grudge and Schism, which get the hype. But I think The Patient is second best on that album to the title track.

It's pretty good, but the Irish guy is wearing way too much makeup. He looks like he's doing whiteface.

Totally agree that I wish the episodes were longer.

Well, this show has come to an end. Anyone watch the whole season? Thoughts?

I really liked it. Very good acting.

The result shocked me. While it literally was the only natural conclusion to the story, I didn't think they'd go there.

It's better than 90% of what is on tv these days.

Also thought it was really good and agree on the great acting. Both Domhnall Gleeson and Steve Carell were excellent.

Gleeson nailed the sociapathic personality dead on. BTW, if my Mom found out I was killing folks, she'd be the first one to turn me in.

I think the producers behind this show do a good job of creating unconventional endings that while not as perfect as "Breaking Bad" from a fan perspective, make perfect sense for the shows and the characters.

In "The Americans", they did not end up dead or in jail. Yes they made it back to Russia, but losing their family in the process. I would find it hard to argue they "got away with it".

As noted for this show, it pretty much had to end with Steve Carrell's death. The creativity is how he was able to reconcile with his estranged son through the final letter he wrote. I think that is why Auschwitz was brought in, as a symbol of how Steve Carrell's character was struggling with his faith and his relationship with his son.

So what became of the serial killer? Again, they left that deliberately vague. I'd like to think he strangles his mother (who is not innocent) and slowly starves to death chained in his own basement.
