This documentary on the last days of the Afghan occupation after the Afghan gov't fell to the Taliban just released on HBO Max. What a gut wrenching number of days for the soldiers at the airport and for the people of Afghanistan.

The doc has interviews with both Marines at the Kabul airport as well as with members of the Taliban. I don't think I've seen anything like this one from the perspective of having dialogue from both parties in a war.

I highly recommend watching but take warning it is pretty intense.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Watched it over lunch and it is incredibly tense, especially the first two days.

Still so sad to think of all the men and women who served there just to send it end like that.

imagine you spent two years of your life worrying every day if you would be horrendously killed

and it was ALL FOR NOTHING

literally, the Taliban are in better shape now in 2022 than they were in 2002!!
