Terrible covers

Jumped in my car Friday afternoon, and my radio was set to the local classic rock station. They have been playing a lot of Stevie Nicks because she's playing here later this week. The song that they were playing on this occasion was her cover of "For What It's Worth" from Buffalo Springfield. I have to say it was the worst cover I can recall hearing in the last 30 years or so.

That got me thinking about what other truly terrible covers are out there. The other one that sticks out in my mind is Winger's "Purple Haze". Anyone have any they care to share?

Pretty repetitive droning song made even worse by her attempt at vocals.

Eww... that's a hard one. Bad covers are usually put out of my mind very quickly. I would have to go do some google searches to remind me.

There are many great covers out there!

For many years I've gone to end of year Variety Shows to support my students. God bless them, but I've heard some covers of popular songs done by kids with no business singing into a mic.

I too wonder how some of these kids are in choir. But I go and try to have fun.

Somebody sent me a Instagram reel this week, and the song playing behind it was a cover of Edward Sharpe's "Home" (which I think is a pretty great song). The artist covering it is named Edith Whiskers? It made me want to die.

Whichever country singer it was that covered "lips of an angel". The original by Hinder was pretty meh, but that country version was just awful.

The damaged hearing reply was a joke but I ****ing hate the Disturbed cover. It's terrible and anyone who likes it has terrible taste in music.
