Off topic, finally saw this this week. It might be the most derivative movie I've ever seen.

It was like Roland took Armageddon, Independence Day, The Expanse, T3 (get to a bunker!), contact, Deep Impact t among others and threw them all in a blender to see what would come out. It literally took basic ideas from all of them.
The gravity waves were the one almost original idea I'm the whole thing.and they were not exactly awesome.

Kong vs. Godzilla fighting on the deck of an aircraft carrier is my favorite awesome bad scene of the last couple of years.

First of all, the aircraft carrier has no problem sustaining the additional weight of what the Internet tells me is a 90,000 ton Godzilla and a 50,000 ton King Kong.

Even better though is that despite the fact that Kong has massive canine teeth and is seen in other movies ripping animals apart limb from limb, his go-to move in this fight is a close-fist thrown right hand punch. And Godzilla, who can melt anything to slag with his atomic breath, just sort of stands there watching it and takes it right to the face.

Needless to say, my kid thought this was the greatest scene in movie history when I took her to see it last year.

Loved Megaforce as a kid and just about every scene is awesomely bad.

Pretty much all of Die Hard 2…but the scene where the jet that's "flying on fumes" crash lands with a huge explosion blowing of fuselage is what comes to mind
plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose
