This is a riveting watch. Don't even ask, just watch it. Better to watch on a tv, as well.

Same. Agree it would make for a good movie.Brian Earl Spilner said:
I was to riveted the entire time and was sure he would make it. Sad to hear the ending. Poor guy.
Completely agree on all of these.Rex Racer said:
So what would I have done differently?
1. Maybe extended the exhaust on the diesel equipment. That way they could have used it but the exhaust would not have gone down in the cave.
2. Perhaps used the crowbar to try to chip away at the big rock holding his foot in place? It seemed that he had enough room to possibly do that while he was trying to use the Jack.
3. Possibly install a pulley in the wall of the cave opposite where Collins was lodged. There may not have been enough room, or the wall of the cave may not have supported it. But that way they would have been using the rope to pull him out of the hole rather than up.
Any other ideas?

Great idea! Maybe even something as simple as a football or basketball (leave the leather cover on, for strength).AggieArchitect04 said:
Those also could have used some type of strong balloon or bladder fitted underneath the rock and inflated it.
No worries!gigemags-99 said:
Sorry AA01. Didn't read all of your response before posting mine. While watching, I was yelling the entire time, to your point, about the cave system.
