Great show! I have to admit that The Black Keys got off on a bad foot with me because I discovered them at the same time as Kings of Leon and when I get fixed on a sound it's hard for me to be open to other bands. Also, it really sounded like they were ripping off the sound for other bands. It rubbed me the wrong way but as time went on, I began to put that aside and realize there aren't many good rock bands so I'll take what I can get.

Velveteers opened but I didn't care for them. The Band of Horses were surprisingly good. I've seen them at ACL and remember labeling them as a band that is meant for the radio. I moved to Austin during the time BOH was hitting their stride, so their show was very nostalgic for me.

To the Keys. From beginning to end was great. Their set is full of hits.

The venue: I'm sure it's been discussed but man they love their prices. $18 beers. I have a few friends that work there, so I got a small discount, but my last trip cost me $22 for a Garrison Brothers single shot on the rocks. Lol! The place is nice, but I guess I was expecting more from a $375 mil venue.

I looked at their concerts and plan on seeing Muse in February.

Love the Keys but am I the only one who thinks some of their songs sound too similar to other bands?

Interesting. Admittedly I'm not SUPER into them, but I like them a lot, mainly because they don't sound like other bands (at least, other bands I've heard of).

After listening to their Joe Rogan interview I went back and listened to all their albums. So much good stuff besides their radio hits.
Let's go, Brandon!

Their first couple of albums are just great rock/blues, really like it. The more electronic they have gotten, the less I've liked them.

I do remember Logan's used to play the music video for Lonely Boy every night at midnight on Northgate circa 2012. That was pretty cool.

I could be off here, but I think the Velveteers were about 30 min and Band of Horses were about 45.

Example: Little Black Submarines sounds like Stairway to Heaven.

I'm going tonight as well.

Are there 2 openers? i thought it would be just Band of Horses then Black Keys.

Live nation website for the Dos Equis venue says doors at 5:30, show at 7:00 so i assumed BoH goes on around 7-7:30

Got into them when Brothers came out. Enjoyed exploring their back catalogue and loved the rough sound of their songs. I even enjoyed the heavily produced El Camino, but fell off after that album. I saw them at an Edgefest in 2011 or 2012, and they were great live.

Dan has some great gear that I love nerding out about.

The Black Keys use a lot of standard blues riffs that's been done a million times, but there's also a kinda radio jingle quality to their music. A lot of their early albums had songs that sounded like they belonged in a car commercial, which makes their music sound familiar.
