SIAP....

I was a big fan of the show, tried to give it a chance but they just mucked it up the last 2 seasons. Oh well....

Guess I was smart to drop it after season 2.

It's called Westworld, I get that there's a Sci-fi element but they went pure scifi.

I never even started the 4th season. Assumed I would eventually but I just haven't found any interest at all yet. I guess the consensus was it wasn't good?

The show was gorgeous and incredibly acted, but Jesus was it pretentious. I could just see the creators/writers sitting in a room sniffing their own farts about how brilliant their nonsense was.

Season 1 was fantastic, and it just went downhill from there

I gave up 1 episode into S2. Delores started to feel very "I'm going to break the wheel" where she says cool, cryptic **** designed for the trailers but the plot doesn't really advance with that conversation.

S1 was one of the best seasons of TV I've watched. Went insanely downhill from there.

I was enjoying it until about halfway through the season. It was quite a step up from S3 but then it really lost me in the final 3-4 episodes. The finale didn't work for me at all. There was too many things left unanswered, the season way too meandering, and stakes were kind of meaningless after a while.

I wouldn't bother with it at this point.

Ohh, I get it now.

THIS post must be in one of Caleb's reincarnated host timelines and the other one is the main timeline.

S1 was awesome, but I really wish that I hadn't been reading the online "theories" that gave away the Man in Black - William twist. That would have been so cool to have watched live, I think, instead of already having it figured out.

I tried to watch season 4, but I literally had no clue what was happening.

Made it to episode 6 of season 4 before throwing in the towel. Its just dumb.

Same. And the parts I did follow, I didn't care about at all. I can't remember another show I've watched all the way through and felt zero emotional connection to at the end.

I watched all of it, but really had no idea what was happening most of the time in seasons 3 or 4. There were some great ideas and it was visually stunning, but was a mess overall. Agree with everyone above that season 1 was amazing.

Season 1
One of the best seasons of TV ever, hands down.

Season 2
I'm one of the few people who liked season 2 nearly as much as 1, but I understand why most felt its structure was too needlessly complicated. That said, the season 2 finale is one of my favorite episodes of television ever, more so than any individual season 1 episode.

Season 3
The first half of the season was some of the best sci-fi I've ever seen. Second half was WAY too rushed, though, even though I liked the basic story that was being told. A big part of the disconnect, unfortunately, was cutting the season down to 8 episodes from the 10 of the previous two seasons, yet trying to establish such a massive world and tell such a massive story in that contracted amount of time.

Season 4
Same as season 3, the first half of the season was great, to the point where we and every other site were excitedly claiming Westworld was back. However, then, also like season 3 - but even more so this go around - the second half of the season took a massive nosedive, killing off beloved characters in some of the most random and uneventful ways, limping across the finish line in such an utterly an disappointing manner.

Overall, I wish they could have found a way to keep the action in the park for one more season. The host uprising should have come at the end of season two, not the end of season one. We needed two full seasons in a working, functioning park (one that was increasingly showing signs of stress and fracture).

Season three should have been what season two originally was, only told with a more straightforward structure. I really enjoyed the Delos family flashbacks - I would have kept those - but telling the rest of the present-day story through Bernard's scrambled memories was mostly pointless and over the top.

Then, what was originally season three should have been expanded and told over seasons four and five. I loved the idea that people in the real world were essentially on loops as well, controlled by an even greater A.I. in Rehoboam, and that Dolores was the one to set *everyone* free. But again, that arc needed two seasons to tell that story properly, and give Dolores a proper sendoff. The entire series should have then basically ended there, with humans and hosts free to make their own new world together or apart - whatever they decided (since the main theme of the series was always about choice and free will).

The more I've thought about this last season, the more pointless it's become in my mind. In a do-over, I would just scrap it altogether, as it really didn't advance any themes, and it all ultimately felt like tacked on story anyway. Parts of it were cool, but none of it was enough to support its existence in the first place.

Fully agree with just about all of this. To me, the magic of Season 1 was A) exploring the park and B) the mystery around Dr. Ford.

Basically losing both of those at the same time after just one season felt like a poor decision.

Westworld was cancelled because the writers kept trying to convince us that their hot steaming diapers were captivating nuggets of sensational fiction.

Eff those guys.

Good. I got sick of the..."this show is amazing, you're just too dumb to get it. May I suggest you stick with The Bachelor instead."

The original "Westworld" was one of my favorite movies growing up. I just thought the whole premise was so cool.

So I was excited about the series given today's filmmaking technology. But the story quickly lost me. I watched the first season and then stopped.

What a waste of an opportunity that was.

Should've been a miniseries and ended after season 1. It would have been perfect. Instead they tried to squeeze every dollar out of it and ruined it.

I really liked season one, but couldn't force myself to get past episode one of season two, wasn't sure why....glad I made the right choice and saved some time.

I'm just mad I got excited again in season four, really thought they were maybe back on the track for a few episodes and then it just went completely off the rails.

Evan Rachel Wood at least has a second career to fall back on if she needs one…

This thread makes me feel better. I thought I was the only person who loved Season 1, then instantly became confused and bored with Season 2 and stopped watching.

Like it's nagged at me and bothered me that I bailed on a show everyone else thought was so great.

Loved season 1, loved season 2, season 3 had a bunch of cool sci-fi ideas but the creators lost the narrative. Season 4 was a steaming hot mess where basically none of the plot lines or characters made sense.

It became a clusterF of robots fighting robots who could then just become a new robot, where motivations made no sense and there was no reason to invest in the characters

Season two is absolutely worth watching. It's needlessly complicated, but also features some of the best episodes of the series, and again, the aforementioned S2 finale is incredible. I would even suggest watching season three, as abrupt as the second half of the season feels, just to get some kind of closure, as the arc for the show, and Dolores, basically ends there. S4, for all intents and purposes, is essentially useless.

Probably would be much better after someone on the internet recuts it to run chronologically. Tried to get to cutesie after their big reveal got away from them in S1.

S1 will likely always be the most amazing thing I've ever seen on television.

This is where I am. I think I recall the end of S1 and they teased Samurai robots and I remember getting worked up about that. And then I recall watching S2E1, got confused, and then I never went back.

Feels like a lifetime ago that I watched S1.

Same here. Although it didn't really bother me.
