This one looks to be the best yet with additions like Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada-san. I know without a doubt the fights between Wick and those two are going to be simply stunning to watch.
Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen any of the John Wick movies
Here is a brief backstory overview:
This is one of the very few action franchises that gets better with each movie and a lot of it has to do with the fact that the writers introduce a new element to the story with each movie.
John Wick - All we know is that Wick is a former assassin who got out by completing an "impossible task" so he could be with his dying wife who had cancer. We see how skilled he is with guns and hand to hand combat, and that he can speak many languages.
John Wick 2 - We get a better idea of this secret underworld of assassin's Wick used to belong to. We are introduced to the "high table" who run the entire operation. We also learn about what "marks" are and how they work. John also disobeys one of the cardinal rules of the assassin underground and is labeled "exommunicado" by Winston and the High Table. The movie ends with Wick on the run.
JW 3 Parabellum - We meet an adjudicator who is to pass judgement on Winston and the "bird king". Wick makes his way to the "Elder" where he can earn one more chance at living but only by serving the High Table for the rest of his life. Winston and Wick decide to say screw the High Table and stage a defense at the Continental.
What will the next chapter hold? Who knows, but one thing is certain, the action sequences will be top notch.
