As a kid, I thought Kenny Rogers was singing "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille, with four hundred children and a crop in the field."

Roughly at the same age, l thought "straight on for you" was "stray dog for you."

"Revved up like a deuce" or "Wrapped up like a ******", either way, it's a crappy song.

Just myself and a co-worker at work one day, listening to the radio and shooting the breeze to pass the time.

Keith Urban's song You'll Think of Me comes on. It gets to the line "And take your cat and leave my sweater". My co-worker remarks, "what a weird line", I start to agree but then ask, "wait, what's weird about it?"

He looks at me confused then says, " take your cat he'll eat my sweater", what does that even mean?

I immediately went into a state of half laughing half hyper ventilating. Took me at least a few minutes to compose myself and explain what the line actually was. That said he may have been on to something. I don't particularly like that song but to this day anytime I hear it I jam the hell out of it and sing take your cat he'll eat my sweater.

Plenty over the years, but can't think off top of my head. But always think of this but when talking about misheard lyrics…

One of my kids confessed the other day that in "Piano Man," Billy Joel was singing about a tonic engine, not a tonic and gin.

My grandma was a sweet white haired Barbara Bush lookalike, God bless her, and thought "lonely women make good lovers" was "only women make good mothers" which is/was in heavy rotation on 97.1 Classic Country out of Houston.

I think about her every time it comes on Prime Country.
