Well, it wont likely be anything from the digital age, and frankly not cd's, tapes, or whatever….so it will have to be something from paper sheet music.

That said, what holds up today from that long ago? Not much. Shakespeare, classic sheet music, a few classic greek and roman paper stories, the bible, etc.

"Happy Birthday" and a lot of Christmas songs and Religious Hymns. I also really hope they're still singing some version of the "Star Spangled Banner" in 500 years.

I've noticed young folks are fans of 70s and 80s music at this time, so maybe the early to mid days of rock and pop?

Not sure the odds are in our favor to be here in 500 years.
But if we are, it won't be the movies or songs that are the most popular necessarily, it will be the ones that speak to each generation similarly. Songs like Somewhere over the rainbow, movies like it's a wonderful life. They have universal appeal.

What 500 year old stuff are you listening to today?

None of todays music or movies will be known to anybody but historians.

Hopefully there will be someone like Archie Henderson on something similar to the Twitter platform 500 years from now - Music historian who research popular music back to 14,000 BC and posted what he could for the world to marvel and enjoy.
