Just caught a late showing. Definitely worth a watch if you're into war or historical movies in general. I haven't read the book it's based on (yet) but I have read another by the same author, Adam Makos, and he's a great storyteller.

It was nice to see a movie set during the Korean War, which never gets a lot of attention. The cinematography was great and I loved how the Corsair, one of the prettiest planes ever designed, looked and sounded. I think at times the acting or lines might come off as a bit wooden, but I'm guessing these actors were playing their parts as close as possible to the true personalities of the men portrayed. It suffers from the same issue that a lot of these movies do, similar to how I felt about All Quiet, that there's only so much you can cram into feature length. This story could have been a season or two worth of episodes to capture the whole story and allow for more character development, but as a movie I think it balanced character development and action pretty well.

Above and beyond any filmmaking comments the story is absolutely awesome and has some great messages. True heroism on display and honoring some men worthy of being remembered.
