Who's in? I am. I'm 49 and love all these country music performers movies/series. Their lives were interesting, tragic and successful. Coal Miners Daughter is the standard. Like my husband said, 20 years from know, what kind of biography of country music will our kids watch…Luke Bryan and his blue jeans was my answer.

First episode was good. But it was disconcerting when Possum was flushing 2020s Bengies in 1968.

Seems really well done but for awhile I wasn't sure if we were watching scenes from throughout the series or the entire first episode. It lacked a bit of narrative thread.

Still, the reviews have been good. And I'll watch any show that's about country music history, especially with a focus on the Possum.

Was a good first episode. Her husband Don Chapel's character sure was a sad sack. On the order of William H Macy in Fargo sad sack.

I have an unhealthy disdain for Luke Bryan (had an ex that played his stuff all the time on our sonos). I don't understand how he's famous for singing. He sounds like a twangy Kermit the frog singing pop music.

There is no disdain related to Luke Bryan intense enough to be regarded as unhealthy by any reasonable standard.

TA poster Aggie Hunter's grandmother was George's sister. I believe her name was Helen Louise Jones. Weird fact, I knew through him that George had passed away about 4-5 hours before it was released to the media

This series wrapped up Sunday night.

I'm not a big fan of biopics, but this was very well done. A little dark, perhaps, but the subject was two very troubled people.

Jessica Chastain did a fantastic job as Tammy. I had more of a challenge accepting Michael Shannon as George Jones, because he lacked Jones' impish grin and stage presence. But the music was excellent and the storytelling was mostly accurate (based on their daughter's book).

Anyway ... great show focused on a topic that is often overlooked in contemporary entertainment.

Wife and i watched it. Pretty good. At times, they tied the songs to the fairly tragic story really well. Lots of subtle questions left for the audience and things to think about.

Definitely gave you a feel for the regrets and reflection time brings those who last long enough.

If the movie has anyone looking to do a deeper dive into the two of them, you should definitely check out the podcast Cocaine and Rhinestones. It's done by David Alan Coe's son, and the entire second season does a fantastic deep dive into their careers and relationship.
