Apparently they will start with a younger version of Superman instead. He may have left Witcher anyway if the rumors of "creative differences" are true, but the Superman role had to at least somewhat factor into that decision as well.

Warner Bros really is killing it lately.....

Yes, you were definitely the first one to break this story on this board, half a day later.

So does this mean that we are getting the Dandelion Spin-off that everyone is clamoring for?

Is Armie Hammer still blacklisted, cause I'd love to see a sequel to the U.N.C.L.E. film he did with Cavill. I thought that was an underrated movie.

Consider me properly Texags-shamed. Scanned the first page looking for Superman or Witcher, but the DC thread didn't register for me since I never look at it.

He started out in the Tudors on HBO as right hand man to Henry VIII. I think he would be ok.

Cavill is British in real life. That's the joke.

Video of Cavill walking into the meeting with Gunn after getting tipped off about the agenda.

the Witcher tv franchise is dying, he bailed at the right time.
1. Season 2 was a serious downgrade on S01.
2. Later books in the series are much less about Geralt and much more about Ciri.
3. They are trying several spin off shows. The first of which is getting poor reviews (so far) and ridiculous race swapping.

He bailed at the right time.

This makes me sad...season 1 was so good

DC thread has too many tangents unrelated to MoS and Henry Cavill.

I am going to post what I tried to convey there which quickly got buried.

Warner Bros and Gunn is a changing of the pathetic guard that apparently is more concerned with leadership Ego than they are money.

Man of Steel was a blast and did well world-wide. There was no reason to not bring back Henry Cavill in a Man of Steel sequel, delight casual viewers, and make bank.

The real villain is Zack Snyder - great casting that was wasted on a crappy vision with worse execution. I, too, loved MoS, but we lost out on all that potential, short of the final act of Justice League, which for Cavill amounted to a cool fight scene and not much more.

What might have been - same casting for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman but more competent leadership at WB and a different guy at the helm. Could've been awesome.

I blame the top brass at WB who was immediately pushing for the JL after MoS.

That's... the point of the thread. To discuss *all* things DC.

It got buried because you admitted you hadn't been keeping track of any of the news/history of all this, yet still decided to complain about it anyway, as if you knew what was going on.

Warner Bros and Gunn is a changing of the pathetic guard that apparently is more concerned with leadership Ego than they are money.

It's literally the opposite. The DCEU was a mess of a universe and you're asking WB to sacrifice the BILLIONS they could make going forward, on a new, coherent, planned-from-the-start universe, in favor of the MILLIONS they could make on a Man of Steel sequel, everything else be damned. That makes zero sense.

Man of Steel was a blast and did well world-wide. There was no reason to not bring back Henry Cavill in a Man of Steel sequel, delight casual viewers, and make bank.

You said in the other thread that you think a Man of Steel sequel would make "$680M x 2" and I'm sorry, but there was zero chance of that happening. The fanboy interest in Cavill as Superman is passionate, yes, but a tiny percentage of the would-be audience overall. Social media isn't real life. Take Snyder's Justice League, for example. WB mistook the fervent online demand for that movie, spent millions upon millions thinking that demand would lead to all kinds of new HBO Max subs, and would maybe even re-ignite the Snyder-verse. Yet when they finally released it, it turned out that fervent fanbase was simply a very loud, but very small minority. Snyder's Justice League didn't even come close to HBO Max's projections, basically fell flat on its face, and Hollywood learned an important lesson (again, that social media isn't real life).

A MoS sequel would do decent numbers, no doubt, but contrary to you and your wife's opinion, the first one didn't meet expectations at the box office, doesn't have the following you think it does, and despite what it gets right, there's a not insignificant percentage of the audience who still see it as a deeply flawed movie.

I wish they could have kept Cavill as Superman even though they are rebooting.
