Holy crap this was WAY better than expected. Took the kids out for a fun surprise Christmas Eve movie and this WAS FUN!!!!

I think it's getting 95% on rotten tomatoes right now but dang….all I can say is that this was the most fun I've had in the "Shrek universe" and I was laughing through quite a bit…

Dude every character is nails in this. And there are A LOT of characters and they "expand" on the definition of fairy tails in this….lots of little nods and references from one the bad guys in this one

Just took my son to see this today, and I agree. That was a lot more fun than I was expecting.

Thought it was really well done, but be careful with younger kids. My 5 year old was definitely NOT prepared for the Wolf and my dumb ass didn't double check whether the movie was appropriate for him. Just went off of the original film.

Thought it was terrible. Even for a kids movie

Good. A strong fear of death is healthy for kids…personifying that as the big bad wolf was great!

Honestly I wasn't too impressed when he first showed up….then he drew blood on Puss' head and I was all like, "Holy crap it just got real!" And combining that with his whistle that was eerily similar to Negan and The Saviors from The Walking Dead….he became an instant top "kids movie" villain for me.

Our kids grew up on this franchise, kind of, at least the later films. We got our 14 year old to go with us Saturday. Good, not great, IMO. Banderas was fantastic as always. When the kids were little I would talk in the that voice when I was dropping them off at school and they would freak out I was going to do it around other parents/teachers.

Our family enjoyed it. Wolf was a bit scary for our 4 year old, but she sat on my lap and didn't want to leave, so it wasn't overly so. Funny, well-acted, and cute with a good message. I liked the animation style a lot.

My six year old son and nine year old daughter loved it.

The wolf wasn't as bothersome to them as []Jack Horner[\]

LOTS of great references.

We enjoyed it. The wife leaned over after the wolf scene and said "kinda dark huh?" But by the time it ended, I thought it was a pretty good message. Really worked for me as my son can be quite arrogant and needs to get brought down to earth regularly.

Nothing amazing, but I'd say 3.5 stars. Also, I'm relieved that the last wish name didn't really mean Puss is done. It's somewhat open.

I thought the movie was more odd than good, not necessarily bad but odd and somewhat middle of the pack.

The wolf definitely spooked my 5 yr old.

The bears and Goldie were well done

My two daughters and I enjoyed this today. They loved the recurring cute face bit. The two contrasting animation styles were kinda cool.

Just sat down in the theater with my 8 year old and 4 year old. My first cinema experience in probably 5 years. My 4 year Olds first ever.

I forgot how much fun this is.

Saw this last night. My older girls - 20 and 15 loved it. As animation nerds they mainly geeked on the frame rates and animation styles (more than the 2 previously mentioned apparently) but both loved Death. Both are also big Into the Spiderverse fans too. We all really enjoyed it.

Thanks to this thread, we took our daughter to see it for her first movie in a theater - way funnier than I expected and my girl had a blast. Wolf didn't scare her a bit.

The Mario trailer before the show effectively booked her birthday movie plans.

Same, my kids ask me every day how many days until the Mario movie comes out.

Fight scenes were fun.

My favorite part is where Big Jack Horner comes out of the magic bag as a giant after eating the magic snacks and goes "I thought I was going to come out naked but my clothes grew too!" --Great delivery from John Mulaney.

Agree on all, was sold after seeing the one trailer of it and was not disappointed, had my 9 yo son with me but definitely can see about the wolf and younger kids...pretty dark
