Anybody on here going to the Billy Strings concert in Austin this weekend?

Yep. Tickets for both the Moody Center and Moody Theater tomorrow.

I did the entire Texas run. Fort Worth show was great, especially the second set and encore. Saturday big Moody was off the charts in the PIT.

I was disappointed with the ACL Live show considering they did the same style sit down show there last year of mostly all old bluegrass standards.

They sounded great but I was hoping for a regular old rager.

Four more months til St Augustine.

I agree on both Sat and Sunday. Tow completely different experiences. We were in the Pit both nights and Sat was amazing. Watched that show on Nugs again last night.

I have excepted that the Sunday Moody show is for Billy. He just loves that old Bluegrass that he grew up with and honoring that music. I agree with you as far as wanting to see him tear down that place but appreciate it as well.

Anybody see Lords of Portland Saturday in Austin. My regret was not making that show with the conflict when a buddy had an extra ticket. If anybody doesn't know that is the name Portugal the Man uses when they play a small venue. They played what used to be The Parrish and fits about 400. Apparently it was amazing. Oh well can't make them all.

Ha I'm half way through watching the first set of Saturday on nugs as we speak.

My second show ever was December 2021 at ACL Live and it was a normal show. I realize they've grown a lot and things have changed since but me and my crew were leaning towards getting a regular show.

Just a minor complaint and I'll take any Billy I can get. The floor was extremely over crowded for the Sunday show too but it's all gravy!

Anybody score Phish Sphere tickets? Was like 700 in the queue but lucked out and grabbed 2 seats in the upper section for the final show on 5/2. Very, very stoked for this one. It's definitely a bucket list item for me.

Caught both nights in Austin in June after a 22 year gap between shows for me. They still sound incredible after 4 decades.

Had some friends get shut out of Phish Sphere and some pull some GA floors. I too was at those Austin Phish shows after a 9 year gap and they killed both nights.

Missed it this year. I just hate HOB so much. I wish they would change venues.

Did they give up any update on the album? It's been over a year since it's wrapped and been announced and it's still not out!

Said it was in final stages of mixing (which i feel like theyve been saying the last 2 years lol)

the Texans Deep Steel Thunder drumline for 'I Burn' was neat, Rez must have arranged that after playing at the game a few weeks ago with them.

That was a fun show! It wasn't spectacular. Dude is old and fat, but self-deprecating , while still being proud of what he accomplished. The bad was good, the set was good, and he still sings pretty well. Most of all, it was just lots of fun and great hits! Very glad we went!

Blue Oyster Cult on Friday. I've seen them probably more than any other single band, dating back to 1981. I guess a guilty pleasure, but man they still put on a fun show.

Then Drink the Sea on Sunday. This is Peter Buck from REM and Barrett Martin from Screaming Trees & Mad Season.

Been a rough week for Houston. First Metric/Broken Social Scene and now Jimmy Eat World (Bleed American Anniversary) tour announcements and both only hitting Austin and Dallas.

Sucks for me.

Widespread Panic on deck for two nights at Moody Austin starting tomorrow. I think the last time I saw them was 15 years ago at Wakarusa in Arkansas.

Had the W hotel booked in 2021 attached to ACL Live when JB got covid and the shows got canceled. Buddy of mine ran systems testing on the venue and alerted me at 1 pm on the way to the 3 night run that the shows were called off.

Absolutely nothing on socials or statement by the band. I pull up to valet and see so many people in line at 3:30 trying to get wristbands/show proof of vax. Thought to myself poor *******s.

Told the valet guy the shows are off and he too didn't know what I was talking about. An hour later the official announcement was made. You should have seen the look on the faces of folks that had traveled from all around the country for that run.

Couldn't make the rescheduled shows. Needless to say pretty pumped for the next two nights.

Shinedown + Coheed & Cambria + Black Stone Cherry? Yes, please!

Have seen all multiple times, but Coheed is near the top of my list. Should be a fun show with an interesting audience makeup.

Young the Giant and Cold War Kids with KennyHoopla at the Moody Amphitheater 7/10/26. It will probably be hot. Not a fan of three bands except when you want to arrive late because is triple digits until 10:00 pm.

Got presale tickets (just now, 2/19) free through Cold War Kids website…d8)

Saw the Eagles in the Sphere last night. Wow is that an amazing venue! Highly recommend going if you have the chance. The visuals were top notch and the sound is simply amazing - you know you've been to a concert but you don't walk out with your ears ringing.

This was the Eagles 50th show at the Sphere. Those guys still rock - they all sounded great. Last time I saw them Deacon Frey wasn't with them. He's great as is Vince Gill. Just 100% pure Americana. Puts a smile on your face and lifts the heart! They played a great mix of Eagles and solo songs.

Here are a few pictures...

Not a concert but yesterday I randomly saw on IG that Theo Von was just announced spur of the moment to be performing at the Comedy Mothership this Thursday with tickets to go on sale today at 2 PM.

Guy is my leader, I've never been to the Mothership, and had a bad experience when he performed here at Reed Arena last year because of my seating situation and a bunch of jackasses around me.

I figured I might try for tickets today. Got in my car from Academy at 1:58 and remembered oh yeah the shows are about to go on sale. I tried, they were sold out in less than half a second which made me wonder if they were even being sold at all.

Said oh well. Started my drive home and stopped off at the gas station. Got back in the car and thought I'd check one more time for the 7 PM show. Still sold out. Then thought to myself oh wait there was a 10 PM slot so let's check that.

Somehow miracled a pair and am pumped. Should be a great way to redeem the Reed Arena **** show plus in a supposedly sweet ass venue. Wondering now if he'll be doing Kill Tony tomorrow or the following Monday or just Rogan's podcast.

It is billed as "Theo Von and Friends" so I'm very curious to see who all the friends will be as well.

Read here. I have indeed found a better venue and am pretty over the moon at this point. He'll probably bomb now:

Big oof by me not making this show with two great bands. Hopefully both return sooner than later.

I would finally go to Vegas for this if it happens next year, but i won't hold my breath considering the band:

Anyone get Noah Kahan tickets last week for Arlington? I was dumfounded that he (so it appears) sold out Globe Life Field. There were only random singles during early window by the time I got in and then looked during regular sales, but I was too late for anything. One of my daughter's favorites so wondering if it's worth trying to find secondary tickets or see if he adds more dates. Globe Life seems like a terrible place for a concert (especially for the price), but I've never been.
