Saw this article from last week about how poorly "Entourage" has aged. It cracked me up because a lot of things the writer mentions are the very reasons I like it so much. LOL

I will say, I rewatched this last year and there are definitely things that 'shock' you. But only because no one really says that sort of thing anymore, not that it would really offend you. If that makes sense.

That article is written by someone who probably doesn't have a lot of fun moments in their life. Yikes.

Watched this because of this thread as I had never seen it. A couple of points.

Technology shifts from brick phone to the iPhone throughout the series.

Season 1 ... Did not care for Drama and Ari. They were my least favorite characters. By the end of the show Drama and Ari were my favorite characters in the whole show.

Sasha Grey was f'ing outstanding.

All characters developed in some way except for Johnny Drama who was the exact same guy he was at the beginning.

Diceman was great.

Saget was also great.

My memories of watching Entourage were for 3 reasons

1) See what funny sheet Ari would say.
2) See what celebrities showed up to parody themselves.
3) See what hot a$$ they got naked on the show for Vince.

Everything else was so incredibly unbelievable no one should take it seriously. The fact that a smokeshow like Sloane would talk to Eric for more than 1 second, let alone have a relationship and willingly engage in intercourse with him is the greatest fiction the world has ever known.

Johnny Drama is one of the all-time great TV characters, and Kevin Dillon played him masterfully -- switching at the drop of a hat between braggadocio and insecurity.

Plus, once his character got a little fleshed out, he started getting all the great lines.

The "Victory" podcast with show creator Doug Ellin and the Kevins -- Dillon and Connolly -- is really interesting. Lots of good inside tidbits.

More believable than her being with Seth Green. LOL

I'm currently going through a rewatch of the show and listening to Victory podcast along with it.

Completely agree on both Drama and Dillon. He also happens to be easily the most likeable of the actors, based on the podcast discussions. Connolly and Doug Ellin both seem kind of dewshy in real life. Not ass****s by any means, but the kind of dudes you'd get into arguments with all the time because of their pettiness. Dillon seems super easygoing in comparison.

Side note: I do wonder if there's any beef between Grenier and the rest of the guys.

I know he's stepped away from Hollywood/acting, but to refuse to come onto the podcast seems a little weird.

They all seem to like him, or at least be polite when discussing him, but they are all definitely bros and he seems a little different.

Like in the first meeting of the cast when they asked him if he liked the Jets or Giants, and he said, "I really don't like football."

I loved Entourage. Fun show. I thought it was kind of silly and odd when it became cool to bash it a few years back.

One of the interesting aspects to me was that they had a guy who isn't that great of an actor (Grenier) playing a character who is a great actor.

"One Day in the Valley" is my favorite episode.

Mine as well, and according to the podcast is the most commonly mentioned to them.

I did always wonder if the show would have been better if they cast a truly great actor that you would believe everything being said of.
But on the flipside, Grenier nailed every other aspect/characteristic of that Vince.

Vince getting reverse alpha widowed by Sasha was the best part of the show.

Entourage is a love story about a hard working jew who works his way up to owning the biggest talent agency in the world. He lives in Beverly Hills with his family. Flys private and rubs shoulders with Hollywood glitterati on a daily basis.

In spite of his hard work, his wife decides that she deserves better and leaves him for some dude on a cooking show.

Then instead of taking the opportunity to set up a stable rotation of the best 20- olds money could buy, he decides to **** his middle aged ex for sport and later goes back to his wife.

First time I watched "Entourage," I had no idea who Bobby Flay was.

Now, I'm a big fan, so it cracked me up to see how Ari abused him.

If I remember right, Ari is implied to be a womanizing adulterer early in the series. But that's just ignored later on when he's a devoted husband.

He also had a third kid that disappeared later in the series.

Also Vinny and Drama originally shared a father, but later it turned into the mother.

Doug Ellin chalked that up to trying to figure out what worked best for the character given that the show went longer than they all anticipated.

Saw on Twitter that Adrian Grenier is finally going to record an episode of "Victory: The Podcast" on Wednesday. Not sure when it will be released.

Until last week, I had no idea Grenier lived on a farm in Bastrop. Would be really weird seeing him at HEB.
