Saw this on Saturday night and loved it. Great story and really made you reflect upon the effects that this movement had on society in America in the 70s and 80s. Would strongly recommend it. Kelsey Grammer is terrific as Chuck Smith. Google the interview he does with Kelly and Ryan as he talked about this movie…very very moving.

Looking forward to this. I believe this is the church where contemporary Christian music had its beginnings.

Yes, they mention that in the end credits.

Thanks for the review. We were close to watching it Sunday with the kids, but chose Wonder instead.

I understand there's some drug use in itnothing too severe for an 11 and 10 year old right? They both are on the anti-drug wagon at this age, so I figure this might even be a bonus if it burns some imagery into their heads now.

It wouldn't be too much for kids of that age, IMHO.

I wanted to like this movie but honestly it started to get very boring and by the last 40 mins I just got very uninterested. I liked the the characters involved and the ending showing how that Church is still going strong but I just found the overall movie to be slow and just not exciting.

The Erwin brothers do such an incredible job of telling a compelling story without a major Hollywood budget. They might be one of the more underrated producers in the industry today.

Woodlawn and American Underdog are my favorites...the attention to detail on these 'time pieces' is incredible. These aren't your stereotypical cheesy Christian movies. They're authentic and allow you to see the flaws of the people they're portraying. And they've been able to pull in some serious talent for their films. Jon Voight, Sean Astin, Dennis Quaid, Zachary Levi, Kelsey Grammer, and more.

Hoping to see 'Jesus Revolution' soon. Not surprised to see it getting good reviews.
