Dawn should never have made the finale in S18, been a judge(!) in S19, and be appearing in an "All Star" competition.

Hell, she made a PASTRY in a vegetable competition! I'm surprised she even managed to plate her dish in time. But she sure was quick to throw the Mexican guy under the bus...

We can talk about the winners/losers now right?

Loved everything Charbel put together this episode.

CANT BELIEVE SOMEONE TRIED TO MAKE A RISOTTO IN A QUICK FIRE

The hubris of Italians knows no bounds.

You could see Tom crunching on that rice. Just mind boggling to me that someone would think you could turn out risotto that fast.

And the failure to de-vein shrimp was equally inexcusable. It was such an obvious oversight that it almost makes me question the show.

Rookie mistakes.

Meh. You see chefs do this all the time on chopped. They constantly violate the cardinal rules.

1. Never make risotto. Its on the shelf as a trap.
2. Never cook a whole Cornish hen.
3. Never attempt to cook a bone in anything. The corollary this is: the bone in tomahawk ribeye they just gave you is a trap.
4. Never touch the white truffle oil. It's a trap.
5. Never touch the puff pastry. It's a trap.
6. Never make panna cotta.

Yeah she threw him under the bus. He had it coming for being a sloppy hack who dumped water in her pan. I'm convinced that all the slips and crashes they just teased are all because he's a sloppy hack.

This might be the greatest group of chefs ever assembled on top chef. Very few weak links (save for risotto girl).

I think it's going to be hard to beat Buddha. That guy has never made a weak dish.

I disagree. Dawn is obviously very talented and she consistently puts out great dishes. Her problem is time management. She has just as much of a case as Amar to be there.

This is who Dawn is. She always takes a few challenges to get her stride.

Congrats, you called it! He definitely seemed to stand out in a group of very talented chefs. Frankly, as long as Sara didn't win, I'd have been okay with anyone else who finished in the final 7. She may be a real peach but her voice and demeanor were like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Regarding the finale, we weren't too surprised with Buddha winning as he'd been consistently great most of the season. More surprising was how the other two elevated to pose a significant threat over the final couple of weeks. Had Sara not forgotten to actually cook the livers the outcome could have gone her way. And Gabri, who was a bottom-dweller throughout much of the season and a walking disaster in the kitchen periodically, turned out some pretty incredible dishes there at the end. (Seeing him ***** out Suni Lee might have been one of the most hilarious parts of the whole season for me.)
