This is great news. It should roll right into Severance when it's finished. Been looking forward to this.

I just checked the calendar + Apple's press releases for both seasons, and the Silo season two finale will air the exact same night the Severance season two premiere debuts... Thursday, January 16th. What a massive night of TV that will be.

I had a hard time with the first episode, mainly because of the dialogue and sound. I just couldn't understand what they were saying and nothing made sense. I went back and watched it on an iPad with headphones and it was better. After that the story picked up and the sound improved dramatically.

I think it's the best of these 3 shows.

Just finished season 1 of Silo.

All 3 of these shows are fantastic… but if I have to rank them I'm going with

Slow Horses
First half of Silo season 1

This is a good show to watch all together instead of waiting week to week. I watched the first half of season 2 live but the episodes were just too slow to stay interested. Watching the back half of 2 all together was much better

Finally watched season 1. Enjoyed it, although it was a bit of a cure for insomnia in that I fell asleep in several episodes. But I was enjoying it enough to rewind back and power thru. Probably won't be in a super hurry to start season 2, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually

Just finished season 1, and I'm following almost all of it. The one thing I can't make sense of is the damn tape.

We know that the agoraphobic lady got a friend in Supply to swap her good tape for the crappy IT tape. And we know that the good tape is what kept Juliette's suit sealed long enough for her to get to the other silo.

What I can't figure out is how the old lady knew the tape was the issue? How did she know that swapping the tape would be what saved Juliette's life?

And why did Juliette ever steal the IT tape to start with, if everyone already knew the IT tape was crap and her bestie had the good stuff anyway?


Just started season 2 so I don't want to venture to the season 2 thread to see if this has already been answered, as I don't want to see spoilers.

Not sure she 'knew' the tape was the issue, but she did know that the IT tape was not as good as the Maintenance tape, so I think she was trying to improve Jules' odds of survival.

Jules says she steals it because they needed it in Maintenance. I don't think she ever expounds why. Then they realized that their stuff was better than the IT stuff, but I don't think anyone ever put two and two together.

Have fun in season 2. I just watched both seasons about a week ago and loved it. It was recommended by a friend who got hooked on the show and told me about it.

Season 3 is filming now and rumor has it that will drop in the fall. Can't wait to see where this goes...

They didn't know the tape was crap until Juliette stole it. The old lady had an eureka moment as they were reminiscing about how and why Juliette got in so much trouble for stealing the tape and it was crap tape anyways.

I was in a small book store and picked up the Wool trade paperback on sale for just $8. I've been meaning to read it since watching the series, so hoping it offers enough "extra" that I'm not bored…

I just finished Wool yesterday.

Good book.

Comparing it to the show I'd say it's much more "different" than it is "deeper" if that makes sense. Some books are the same story as the movie or show and just go much more in depth. Didn't feel that way about Wool/Silo.

Agree with that. Same premise, same themes, but different emphasis on certain stories or different stories altogether. The writing itself is very good. Interestingly, I discovered the trade paperback is not the same as the Kindle version, including having an entire (small) chapter not on the Kindle.

I'm actually halfway through Shift, the prequel which explains how things came to be, starting in Washington DC about 25 years from now. I'm enjoying how it has its own stories but weaves into the start of Wool.

All three books are pretty good. Shift does a great job of explaining the origins while tying in to the story from Wool. The end of Shift is basically the end of Wool, and then the third book completes the story arc. It's pretty cool how the three books work together.

Spoilers dude. Lots of discussion the last few pages on timelines, timing in a scene final episode of season 2, etc.

Just finished S2 and really enjoyed it, much more action and movement than S1. Looking forward to to S3 with the flashback setting as well!
