Demon Spawn is interested in his works and thought I could get him a collection of his stories as an 8th grade graduation present.

I have read most of his stuff but wondered if there was an annotated anthology that any of you liked.

Otherwise, I'd recommend finding one that includes the stories you think he'd like best. Personally, I'd think a collection that includes At the Mountains of Madness, Shadow Over Innsmouth, Case of Charles Dexter Ward, and Herbert West-Reanimator along with any others would be perfect, though since those are longer, they seem to usually be split up.

Reanimator had a movie adaptation back in the mid 80s - right about the same time as "From Beyond", which was another Lovecraftian movie.

Pretty scary stuff to early high school me, but was damn good entertainment all the same. This was also my Iron Maiden phase, so. . .

At 50 years I have always been interested in Lovecraft style stories and art but I've never actually read the original works. Bought the Kindle version thanks for the idea.
