Is anyone watching this series on HBO Max? It's set in San Francisco post-Civil War, and the hero is a Chinese martial artist. Lots of blood and some nudity. It's pretty damn good.

Apologies if someone else has already posted about it.

New season should be coming this year?

It was included in HBO's "coming this year" extended advertisement that came out around January.

A quick google indicates Season 3 might begin on June 29th.

Was hoping this thread was about one of the more criminally underrated movies of our lifetime, starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. Such a damn good movie.

But anyway, I did watch a few episodes of this show and liked it but somehow lost track. I should probably go back and pick it up.

Agree with everything in this post. I love that movie.

As far as the show, I really enjoyed it when I binged a year or two ago. The show has a lot of influences from Bruce Lee, and the main actor does a very good job at replicating his style.

People are definitely sleeping on this one, really great design and art direction and the action sequences are fantastic. I've recommended it to a lot of folks, looking forward to s3.

Anyone that ever lived with an alcoholic father would agree that Nolte should have won an Oscar for the drunk hotel scene. The rage and confusion in his eyes was spot on. Now is an American treasure.

Post episode 3: So they have referenced Penny a few times, but I'm really surprised they haven't given her any screen time yet. You have to assume she is going to come back as a main character, but I don't think they are doing her any favors by keeping her offscreen given that the show is coming back from a long hiatus and on a new service, so there are potentially a lot of new viewers that aren't as attached to her.

It also seems like they've abandoned the storyline of the Fung Hai leader escaping that was hinted near the end of season 2, which I am fine with. Haven't heard anything about him at all this season.

They laid the seeds for this in S2, but it's obvious by this point of S3 that the central conflict will be between Ah Sahm and Young Jun's insecurities. Hong is still awesome. I'm sure we'll get some lovely comments about his arc this season if this show gains popularity on texags.
